It's a wrap, the (Un)heard Music Festival 2023! Two days full of music, dance and film inthe nice ambiance of Korzo in The Hague. John Psathas from New Zealand was composer-in-residence during the festival. Due to his Greek background, his music is an interesting fusion of European traditions, folk music from both continents and influences from jazz and pop music.

On March 24 & 25 there are two extra performances of Stop de Tijd. Come to Theater Bellevue in Amsterdam.

On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March, Matangi will present the (Un)heard Music Festival in Korzo The Hague for the 7th time.

In 2023 we will continue our tour with artist Gerard de Bruyne along the theaters in the Netherlands, to bring the hypnotic piece Canto Ostinato to the audience in the Simeon ten Holt year.

From 576 registrations, 32 entries were chosen to give a showcase at Jazzahead. Ruins and Remains is one of the three acts.

From 2 to 4 June 2023 - In Conference Center Woudschoten, lectures and live music about the history of the string quartet, with Wouter Schmidt and Matangi.

Surrounded by many close quartet friends, family, acquaintances and the godfather of Matangi: Stefan Metz and his wife Isabelle Bensa, we thoroughly enjoyed the last few live sounding notes with Daniel in Matangi.

After the resounding success of the Canto Ostinato, Matangi ventures into another masterpiece by Simeon ten Holt in the Ten Holt year. The string septet Palimpsest knows how to touch, move and bewilder the soul. Immerse yourself in the magical world of Ten Holt.

Daniel Torrico will be replaced at the Matangi concerts in the near future by 3 great colleagues who have also played with us earlier.

Matangi is looking for a new second violinist to join the string quartet.

Pianist Martin Fondse (Composer Laureate) and vocalist Margriet Sjoerdsma, together with poet Vrouwkje Tuinman and Matangi, are creating a performance about the human tendency to want to bend the world and time to our will.
