Long lines, careful lines, lines that question each other, hard strokes, short strokes, pointed, scratchy, abrasive, breaking down and building up, chaos, order, silence, funny, serious, warm but also icy and unpleasant, soft and sensual.

All this and much more is the canvas of a string quartet. When Gerard de Bruyne was asked to make a series of drawings by Matangi, this canvas formed the basis of his drawing.
