Matangi Moments

One of those moments that we really look forward to is to perform Schubert's String Quintet in C, the pinnacle of chamber music, together with Benjamin Kruithof. In the Matangi Moments series, this work, sometimes described as 'spinal cord music' that gives you shivers, touches your soul and makes you completely different, will be a prelude to the (Un)heard Music Festival a week later in The Hague.

Schubert also plays a leading role in the second concert in the series. The program The Usual Suspects focuses on two master composers Haydn and Schubert. Both sultry and rough sounds predominate in the last concert in the series, in which we go on a musical journey with Carel Kraayenhof and connect Beethoven and Piazzolla.
